The 2007 PCAST Report
The utmost importance of CPS for US industrial competitiveness has been highlighted by the August 2007 Report of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) presenting a formal assessment of the Federal Networking and Information Technology R&D (NITRD). PCAST concluded that the Federal NITRD Program needs to be rebalanced and recommended (on pg. 31) that the domain of cyber-physical systems be treated as a top priority for federal research investments.
